(Video from San Francisco):What Obama Also Said(playing race card again!)

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0 408/Video_from_San_Francisco.html

clip taken by somebody at the San Francisco event; it's the passage just before the lines everyone is now focused on, in which he talks about the skepticism he encounters:

Here's how it is: in a lot of these communities in big industrial states like Ohio and Pennsylvania, people have been beaten down so long, and they feel so betrayed by government, and when they hear a pitch that is premised on not being cynical about government, then a part of them just doesn't buy it. And when it's delivered by -- it's true that when it's delivered by a 46-year-old black man named Barack Obama (laugher), then that adds another layer of skepticism.

There are some pictures from the event on Flickr as well.

This sort of race baiting is getting tiresome and laughable. Anybody who dares to question him will be called a racist by Obama and his frantic supporters.

It's getting hilarious, really... The real racists and race baiters in this entire primary farce are Obama, Sharpson, Wright and many of these clueless Obamabots. Embrace for a possible violent conflict to be stirred up by Obama if this guy fails to get close to the his dream Wright house.

Re: (Video from San Francisco):What Obama Also Sai (1.75 / 4)

Saying people are skeptical of a message of political change in Washington are even more skeptical when it comes from a relatively young black man in a country where racial issues have been a don't ask/don't tell persona non grata for many years isn't race bating, its realism. Numerous diaries and comments on MyDD alone attest to the truth of that statement.

Troll rating for this comment:
"Embrace for a possible violent conflict to be stirred up by Obama if this guy fails to get close to the his dream Wright house."

"Possible violent conflict"? A truly classless example of fearmongering based on racial tension. This should not be on a Democratic website.

clueless (1.33 / 3)

A typical clueless response from the usual corner.

If we have 90% of the whites vote for a white candidate in a bi-racial election, you would hear 'racism' whining all across the board. But where's the complaint when 90% of the black voters vote for a black candidate in a bi-racial election?

Racism is a two-way ticket. The white ultra-liberals are frankly assisting this sort of very unhealthy reverse racism.

Re: clueless (2.00 / 0)

Its not unhealthy the first time.

If Bill Clinton really was a black president I would be calling racism racism.

But there has never been a black president in 200 years.

Re: clueless (2.00 / 0)

That's probably the most ridiculous reverse-racism talking point I could hope to see. Feigning outrage because Obama gets a majority of the black vote? Why aren't you enthused that a Democratic candidate is inspiring such massive support from a traditionally disenfranchised community?

But no, you'd rather fearmonger about some sort of "violence" if Obama isn't nominated. Please take your bating elsewhere, it isn't welcome on a Democratic blog.

Bullshit and abusive TR (none / 0)

try googling "Denver will burn" and see what you get, before you decide the comment about violence is out of line.

Re: (Video from San Francisco):What Obama Also Sai (2.00 / 1)

Man, the Obamabots are out in force, doling out TR's like I've never seen before over this issue.

Please, step away from the TR and let people express their opinions.

Honestly, this is pretty scary.  I can't help but wonder if this whole San Francisco debacle is the rug being pulled out from under the Obama campaign.  He's played right into the narrative to bring about his defeat, and I can't help but wonder if we're going to see a tide turn after PA.

I'm almost to the point where I hope Obama can resolve this issue, because if he's our nominee and can't shake that "liberal elitist" tag, there's a lot of potential for him to lose the election.

It sure doesn't help when other Democrats are using it as a talking point.

Sure...it sucks for both candidates that neither has closed the deal yet.

What sucks worse is Democrats who can't agree to disagree.

Re: (Video from San Francisco):What Obama Also Sai (none / 0)

Don't worry, I'll be in the voting booth, pulling the lever for Obama if he is the nominee.  I just worry that the Democratic Party isn't setting itself up for success in November, and i want to make sure that happens.  Once this primary is over, I think most will be getting behind the nominee to make good things happen :-).

Re: (Video from San Francisco):What Obama Also Sai (none / 0)

I hope so.  Obviously we both have a different preference, but I think both will make good presidents--always have.

What I don't understand are the people who say they will vote for whoever the nominee is, but in the mean time are tearing the other candidate down (this is obviously occuring on both sides).  Its just so counterproductive.

Nice talking with you :)

Yes, he can't close the deal against a woman the media HATES.  How in the world will he close the deal against McCain, a MAN whom the media LOVES.

I was watching from the sidelines, actually.

I do not and will not attack Hillary.  Trying to get people on both sides to do the same is a futile effort.

what (none / 0)

It will take more than one, two or three gaffees to pull this press-appointed Messiah down to the earth. There's actually quite a lot of stuff in his closet. This night is still young and i'm very confident we'll get there eventually.

My view on Obama has evolved dramatically over the course. To be honest, I'm very very scared about a possible Obama white house with all sorts of damaging stuff coming out on a daily basis. I'm also growing even more confident that this guy will be soundly rejected either by the democratic party or in November.
