Obama Caught Sitting Through Pastor Wright's Hateful Sermon?

Just a rumor. One cablenews network is saying NewsMax, which dug up the tapes of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's now infamous sermons, is ready to break a story on Monday, 3/17/08, that Obama was indeed in attendance during at least one of the sermons that he said he was not present at.

Again, just a rumor, but I seriously doubt they have the tapes to prove Obama's attendance. Well, who knows?

Barak also took down Pastor Wright's testimonials from his website...

http://sweetness-light.com/archive/pasto r-wright-erased-from-obamas-website

Tape: Obama praised Pastor Wright's at his opening remarks of an event.
http://cbs2chicago.com/topstories/Obama. Blacks.Quiet.2.337535.html

Donna Brazile, the laughable 'undecided', 'objective' regular Obamabot on cable TV, is now claiming 'Wright One of the More Moderate Black Preachers' on today's This Week with George Stephanopoulos on ABC. BTW, I used to like and respect Donna Brazile, and always thought she's a straight shooter, unfortunately, she's been 'hoodwinked' this cycle.

BRAZILE: We've known, I mean I've known Jeremiah Wright and actually Jeremiah Wright is one of the more moderate black preachers. Just go to the church down the street from my house and I see women coming with their hats on the other side of their head [as Donna demonstrates in the screencap] because they have been lifted up.

Last but not least, our Michele Obama who believes electing his husband is the only way to save the world, is now complaining how 'downright mean' America has been to her.

The Other Obama

Obama begins with a broad assessment of life in America in 2008, and life is not good: we're a divided country, we're a country that is "just downright mean," we are "guided by fear," we're a nation of cynics, sloths, and complacents. "We have become a nation of struggling folks who are barely making it every day," she said, as heads bobbed in the pews. "Folks are just jammed up, and it's gotten worse over my lifetime. And, doggone it, I'm young. Forty-four!"

She's been complaining how their life has been miserable:

"The life that I'm talking about that most people are living has gotten progressively worse since I was a little girl. . . . So if you want to pretend like there was some point over the last couple of decades when your lives were easy, I want to meet you!"

You don't have a miserable life when you can switch to all-organic'.

"You know," she said, "in my household, over the last year we have just shifted to organic for this very reason. I mean, I saw just a moment in my nine-year-old's life--we have a good pediatrician, who is very focussed on childhood obesity,

What is this coming to? (2.00 / 1)

An attack diary based on a NewsMax "story" which almost certainly does not actually exist, and Michelle Obama gives her kids organic food.

Michelle Obama says that we're divided, that we're struggling, and that life under the Reagan/Bush/Bush years has not been so great.

Yeaaaarrrrggghhhh...look, candidate criticism is fine. It's great, actually. But...have some actual criticism. This is...kitchen sink, grasping-at-straws, scattershot rambling.

The New Yorker interview establishes once and for all the out of touch status of Michelle Obama.  This passage was particularly precious:

"You're looking at a young couple that's just a few years out of debt," Obama said. "See, because, we went to those good schools, and we didn't have trust funds. I'm still waiting for Barack's trust fund. Especially after I heard that Dick Cheney was s'posed to be a relative or something. Give us something here!"

Give you something?  You have a full-time maid, a salary over $300,000, a mansion Rezko helped you finance, and you want us to give you something?  Take it somewhere else.

and so they do. How about Clinton the perpetual victim? she's a millionaire, Bill and Hillary brought in more than 30mil on one deal last year, she got 6 to 8mil on her book, she's richer than the Obama's many times over. Obama's started like regular folks, had debts and school debt until just about 2 years go... and yet here you are "they should not mention anything or complain about anything... ha? they should just be "thankful" they are "lucky" i guess.

Try to be balanced (2.00 / 5)

The Clintons weren't millionaires in 1992.

The Obamas, if he is ever president, will cash in big-time afterwards, just like everyone else who is president.

I'd really like to see how, given her pay levels and the fact that both probably had good financial aid for their post-K12 education, that they only managed to pay off their school loans a couple of years ago.

Re: Obama Caught Sitting Through Pastor Wright's H (2.00 / 4)

Take a look at how Bill Clinton started out---He didn't come from money.  He was a poor boy growing up, and Hillary's family was middle class.  Yeah, they're making big bucks now.  But so what---They both have worked hard to get where they are.  The Obama's are making some cash themselves.  Notice how Michele's salary DOUBLED once her husband got the government to write over a check for a million dollars to the University of Chicago Hospital where Mrs. Obama works. The Obamas are not so pure that they won't work the system (as any other politician would do), so for them to portray themselves as poor, and underprivileged is just political lying.

Re: Obama Caught Sitting Through Pastor Wright's H (2.00 / 1)

Obama's started like regular folks, had debts and school debt until just about 2 years go... and yet here you are "they should not mention anything or complain about anything... ha?

And the Clintons also had never had it easy, even into their 40s. I read that the governorship of Arkansas was a horribly paid position when Bill was governor--something like $20,000 a year, at least during his first term. And in fact, Bill grew up as poor if not poorer than either Barack or Michelle. People who attack Hillary for being a corporate lawyer at the Rose law firm never acknowledge that she was simply trying to afford her family a certain level of comfort. That's also the reason why she supplemented her income by serving on the Board of companies like Walmart. A trained lawyer living in Kansas have a whole lot of options if they want to provide for their family.

So yes, now the Clintons are doing quite well as they enter their 60s. People love paying big money for Bill's speeches. I'm sure the same will hold true for Obama, whether or not he becomes president during this election cycle.

Right. Clinton's dad died before he was born. He was making 40K  as late as 1992 as governor of Arkansas.

Give Michelle fairness (1.00 / 1)

Give you something?  You have a full-time maid, a salary over $300,000, a mansion Rezko helped you finance, and you want us to give you something?  Take it somewhere else.

They both GRADUATED FROM HARVARD LAW, DUMBASS.
Nobody GAVE them that.  They WROTE BRIEFS for that.
They WORKED HARD for that.  There are hundreds of
OTHER people who graduated from Harvard Law that
the Obamas should be compared to.
Having rich parents does HELP you become smart enough
to get into Columbia (like Barack did),or Princeton
(like Michelle did), or Harvard Law (like they
both did).  And the white people who got into
and out of those institutions are for the most
part doing MUCH better economically than the
Obamas.  In his case that is partly by choice,
but in hers it isn't.

Despite being a very skilled lawyer, she ultimately
wound up as the PR director for a hospital.
Now, yes, it is a very large hospital system
and the job pays very well, but the point is,
she is NOT getting billable bours as a lawyer.
She is NOT getting, from the legal departments
of corporate America, the respect that her talents
and credentials deserve.  She didn't get paid what
she was worth until she was somebody's wife; even
when she gets it it is still not for the right reasons.

Well, she IS getting some corporate money for sitting on the Board of Directors of a food company - and she was appointed after her husband become famous.  It's only $53,000 a year for a few meetings but, hey, that should at least cover the organic food.

If she wasn't getting the big buck perhaps it was because she was never worth the big bucks.

Outrageous, she is one of the countless useless hospital administrators who siphon desperately needed dollars away from patient care at hospitals that exist to compete in a vampirish profiteering health care system, sucking the very life out of sick patients, and denying them care after they they have been stripped of every nickle. Disgusting. That is a major problem with our health care system.

Re: Give Michelle fairness (2.00 / 1)

"Her job involves linking University of Chicago to the local community, something sorely needed."

For over $300,000.00 per year this is something done by moderately paid social workers very effectively.

It is utterly outrageous that we have PR administrators making six figure salaries in a health care system where over 21,000 people die every year from being unable to afford care. It sickens me, and kills people daily. It is a loathesome system that puts profits and administrator salaries above lives, and that disgusts me, and should disgust everyone who is aware of the bloated, foul profiteering system. Death by spreadsheet.

And whoever troll rated me for saying so above, you are part of that problem as well.

Progressive? Obama is going to destroy our last, best chance for universal health care and he betrays the people who need help the most by doing so. I will never vote for such a traitor, there is nothing "progressive" about betraying the core democratic values of universal health care. But I guess of your wife is making over $300,000.00 a year stripping the health care system of dollars needed for patient care I suppose he wants to keep the profit in the system.

But I'd like to see some evidence that the public has turned against him. Given that he went up in tracking polls released today and he went =10 in Iowa yesterday, I don't see any supporting evidence for your position.

And saying - well people will turn against him - is not evidence, it's conjecture.

It looks like that is cleared up, although it whether or not he "sat" through one of those sermons is irrelevant.  What the Obama people are doing is quite Clintonian.  They are setting the standard by which he should be judged.  That standard is actually being at the sermon.  He's a typical politician.
